Forum post of the day: Hunters! Make your own mount!

September 8th, 2008 by zhuye

Blizzard MVP Palehoof has come up with a pretty  FFXI Gil  awesome idea in the Suggestions Forum: she suggests that hunters be able to tame their own mounts. Unlike paladins and warlocks, hunters would have to pay for their riding skill — but after that, they’d be able to get unusual mounts. They could use Beast Lore to locate a creature that would be appropriate in size, shape and temperament (and not every member of every species would work!) and then use “Tame Mount” to turn it into a normal, inventory-based mount. She suggests that quests could unlock later levels of Tame Mount, so hunters could get epic mounts, flying mounts, etc. Also, rare reputation mounts like Wintersabers and Nether Rays could simply be untamable.

I’m not a hunter, but I love this idea.     Cheap FFXI Gil    Anything that allows players to make their characters individuals is fine by me. Just looking at Petopia, I can think of more than a few trainable hunter pets that would make great mounts. I’d love to see a troll go riding by on an albino crocodile, a tauren wandering past on a giant gorilla, or a night elf mounted atop a garish pink flamingo. In fact, I would like to see it mandatory that female night elf hunters be mounted atop garish pink flamingoes, but that’s more of a personal prejudice. And no Buy FFXI Gil  , Hordelings, you can’t use gnomes as mounts. Stop asking.

If I could pick my own mount, I’d probably try to tame the big dude pictured above. His name’s Zarakh, and he’s a spider boss found in one of the lowbie Draenei zones. Can you get any more  daoc platinum   menacing than that? What would you use as a mount if you could?

Cloak of the Black Void - crafted with Tailoring

August 6th, 2008 by zhuye

Mantle of Three Terrors - from Black Morass daoc platinum   , normal or heroic (1st boss)
You may have to fight clothies for this, but this is a very good spell hit option.

Shoulder Enchant:
(Greater) Inscription of Discipline - Honored/ wow gold  Exalted with Aldor
(Greater) Inscription of the Orb - Honored/Exalted with Scryer
Alternatively, Inscription of the Orcale at Honored with Scryer offers mp5, if that’s needed more than crit rating. At exalted, however, definitely get the Orb.
Back:

Ogre Slayer’s Cover - from Cho’war the Pillager wow power leveling   in Nagrand (horde version)
If you have this around from leveling, it’s Cheap FFXI Gil     still a decent option for new 70’s.

Cloak of Woven Energy - from Hitting    daoc platinum   t he Motherlode in Netherstorm
Really a sidegrade from the Ogre Slayer’s, with a bit more damage, but fewer stats. Still, an easily attainable option  wow leveling     depending on what stats you need, or if you didn’t level as Balance and missed the Nagrand quest reward.

Cloak of the Black Void - crafted with Tailoring, BoE
Even more damage, even fewer stats FFXI Gil . Fairly cheap to make, and a good option for boosting your spell damage.

The Care and Feeding of Warriors: Gearing Up

July 18th, 2008 by zhuye

Every week Matthew Rossi writes The Care and Feeding of Warriors, and while leveling three warriors to 70 he has spent a lot of time grinding for armor. It’s the curse of the clanking classes. He’s ended up wearing that wolf hat from Terrokar more than he would have wow gold    ever thought possible.

Eventually, you’ll get up to 70 if you keep playing your warrior. And when you do, you’ll find yourself starting a whole new game. The difference between leveling up and preparing for the instance you’ll be expected to run is that you can no longer simply go off and grind and hit the AH for the gear you’ll need to fulfill your chosen role, be it tanking, PvE damage or PvP. (You can use the AH still, but most of what you’re going to want is dropped in instances.) I was talking with another warrior about what gear you should be working to acquire before raiding seriously, and he reminded me that you first have to get the gear that lets you get the gear, so to speak, and so I thought I’d discuss a few easily obtained starter pieces and then what’s out there to upgrade from them.

As always, there are going to be differences of opinion as to what gear is an upgrade depending on what your personal preferences are. For instance, I love +hit on my tanking gear. I hate to miss when I’m tanking, it makes it much more likely that you’ll lose aggro. But how much is that +hit really worth? Partially that’s a matter of opinion. If you don’t feel that you miss often enough to hurt your aggro, then you might prefer a piece with more dodge or block over a piece with +hit. I’ve decided to err on the side of caution and list alternatives so that everyone can try and find that piece that works the best for them. This column, we’ll be looking at various breastplates you can get and how to get them.

Vindicator’s Hauberk - This is a nice chestplate available when you reach revered with the Aldor. It’s got mitigation and avoidance all over it with that decent amount of stamina, a hefty dose of defense and dodge thrown in. However, it takes revered to get it, which may be a problem for a warrior just hitting 70. By the time you get there you may well have gotten a better chest elsewhere. For example, if you’re running Tempest Keep, you could get the next option.

Breastplate of the Bold - Unlike the Hauberk, this is a high-stats chest with three sockets to boot as well as some defense. It’s part of the Dungeon 3 set for tanking warriors (I suspect tanking pallies would not mind taking some Bold as they could customize what it lacks for them with those sockets) but, like the Hauberk, it can be a trifle difficult for a new 70 to start running the Arcatraz right off the bat. For one thing it requires a quest chain to even get the key to the place. (However, it’s worth doing that quest to get the Sha’tari Vindicator’s Waistguard while assembling your tanking set.) For another, you have to be able to kill Skyriss to get this, and for an undergeared tank that could be a problem.

Breastplate of the Warbringer - This is, to my mind, the easiest to obtain tanking chestplate for a level 70, as you can start the questline while you’re level 66. It’s available from a relatively easy quest chain (at least when compared to the difficulty of getting either of the previous chests) from Altrius in Nagrand. Almost as much defense as the Hauberk, although sadly not socketed as is the Bold (then again, it’s not a set piece from inside a dungeon with a key requirement, either) it does have a nice dollop of +hit on it if, like me, you’re interested in that.

Heavy Earthforged Breastplate - This is a crafted Armorsmith BoP, so not all warriors are going to have access to it, and some debate whether or not it’s worth the materials. But it’s got a nice spread of stats for a warrior as he starts tanking instances or DPSing, and with three sockets it’s very customizable. The strength of a socketed item can be hard to determine because as you get better gems you can upgrade the item in whatever direction you choose. But if you’re an armorsmith you’ll probably have to make this at least once to level your skill, and if you do you might as well wear it, it’s certainly a good workhorse breastplate.

Jade-Skull Breastplate - All hail green Wrath! 30 strength, 50 stamina, defense by 25, shield block by 23, and it’s available from a boss in an instance that doesn’t require a key which you will have to run in order to get the key to get Bold anyway. A lot of warriors don’t even bother with any chest before Kara once they have this one, it’s a tanking  wow power leveling  dream piece if you have enough +hit already. And it looks like Wrath. Honestly, what is there not to love? Can anyone tell me? Well, it is a trifle harder than Warbringer, so you might as well pick that one up first on your way to try and get this one.

The Exarch’s Protector - This one always kind of leaves me cold. It’s available from a Mana-Tombs quest so you could theoretically start it at level 64, making it one of the earliest alternatives on this list, but the particular mix of stats and sockets is a trifle weird… I’m not sure if it’s intended for tanking or DPS. It does seem to take the idea of socket flexibility to heart, as you could customize it for either role as you chose, and if you can get a good Mana-Tombs run together at level 64 you could have it before any of the other breastplates so far. I would personally replace it as soon as I could by 70, but it could serve you for a few levels before that.

Blackened Chestplate - Our previous armor pieces have been either tanking or tanking variant pieces. But this is a pure DPS/PvP piece, and a really good one that you can get by level 67 that will carry you until you start getting good instance drops. It’s available from a really interesting and fun quest chain in Blade’s Edge, the Horde version of which has an unfortunate tendency to bug out. Still, if you’re going to be in Blade’s Edge anyway, and you are, why not get this sweet little reward to carry you to 70? (If you need help for some of it, the rewards available should tempt most of your friends, too.) Plus, you’ll get to kill a Gronn. Honestly, this is a quest no one should miss out on, and worth going back and doing if you did when you hit 70 for some decent gold as well.

Adamantite Breastplate - This is a craftable, non-Armorsmith, Bind on Equip item that really does fill the ‘jack of all trades’ role for a warrior on the way to 70. It’s not the best tanking piece, nor the best DPS or PvP piece, but it’s got decent armor and stats and three sockets, and it’s fairly easy to make. If you just want a piece that’s good enough to tide you over until you get one of these more specialized pieces, then this is your baby. Another benefit of it is that it’s part of a decent set of level 66 blues that will ensure that you’re not spending all of  wow leveling  your time desperately grinding on instances waiting for that one piece that just won’t drop. Sure, you’ll want to replace it with better, but at least you won’t be wearing a green ‘of the whale’ piece while you’re trying to do that.

Chestplate of A’dal - If you’re primarily a tanking warrior who wants a DPS piece to help grind with, or a weekend PvP’er who wants an easily soloable quest chain to help supplement your gear as you try and get ready for the Arena, this is a nice alternative.  FFXI Gil  Good strength and stam, available from a not particularly difficult quest chain you can start on as soon as you hit 70 (heck, you could start it at 67 if you don’t want to wait to grind up the money for a flyer) and with both +hit and +crit so you don’t have to worry about which one you want, it’s a nice little warrior plate reward in a sea of pally plate since The Burning Crusade launched.

Durotan’s Battle Harness - My tauren is still wearing this to DPS and PvP in, and I don’t think I’ll even upgrade it when I finally see Doomplate drop. For an Arms warrior I agree with one of the commenters on WoWhead, this is a very strong piece and will carry you for quite some time, at least until you can start running Hellfire Ramparts in Heroic mode for the Crimsonforge. (Since the Crimsonforge is only available in a Heroic, I’m not really going to cover it here, but it is a nice piece for Arms or Arms/Fury builds.) Plus, it’s the legacy chestplate for generations of Frostwolf chieftans! If you enjoy the lore, you’ll keep this even after you have a better drop.

Doomplate Chestguard - By itself this is debatably not as good as the Durotan’s, and is much harder to get. But with the set bonuses this piece can really shine for a fury warrior and it drops off of a boss who you’ll probably be farming for your Bold piece anyway. I’ve never gotten four pieces of Doomplate to drop (I have only seen the chest, in fact) Cheap FFXI Gil   but I’m told the set bonus is extremely good. I’d hold onto this one for when you can take advantage of those bonuses, or socket it with resilience and stamina and use it for PvP.

Ragesteel Breastplate - This is, plain and simple, a PvE DPS piece and nothing but. It has no stam, no resilience, no stats that are good for anything but smashing face. The two piece set bonus is nice, if you’re a blacksmith, but if not you won’t get it so it’s not really worth discussing for most warriors. (Although nowadays most serious DPS warriors seem to be smiths so they can craft some nice epics for themselves. Me, I went herbalism/alchemy. Sigh.) It’s a decent piece and if you don’t have better you might as well use it, but I prefer any of the other chestplates listed - if I was purely about raid DPS I might rate this piece higher until I got an upgrade in a heroic or Kara.

Well, there you go - armor for a starting 70 that doesn’t require a heroic or raid to acquire. What did I miss? (I know I missed some, you always miss some.) daoc platinum    When we return to the subject we’ll probably discuss helms or cloaks, if only because they can provide some of the most varied options.

Shifting Perspectives: So, is Nurturing Instinct worth taking now?

July 15th, 2008 by zhuye

Every Tuesday, Shifting Perspectives is typically written by someone who is not Allie Robert. This week, she has Prowled onto John Patricelli’s turf, Pounced him, and run off shouting, “Ha ha! I have your column and there’s nothing you can do about it wow gold   for the next un-talented 3 seconds!”

John’s previously covered a number of the changes you can expect to see in the upcoming patch 2.4, but more recently we’re heard of changes to the feral talent Nurturing Instinct. Currently the talent increases healing spells by up to 50% of your Strength. It’s not such a bad bonus, but you’d be a rare feral indeed if you found a lot of leather gear with +Strength on it outside of the tier or arena sets. The vast majority of ferals continue to use specialized pieces like the Heavy Clefthoof set for bear tanking and mostly rogue gear for cat dps. Either way, the talent was of considerably less use than it might have been if more pieces like the Shadowprowler’s Chestguard existed ingame (although the addition of badge gear has made it possible, albeit time-consuming, to get leather with “Druid stats”). Moreover, with the change to the Heart of the Wild talent in patch 2.3 (altering the full talent from a 20% increase to your Strength in cat form to a 10% increase to your AP in cat form), Strength became less important than ever. Take a tour through Emmerald’s feral gear guide (updated to include 2.3 badge gear and - I hope - soon to be updated to include 2.4 badge gear) and you’ll find that most of the best cat pieces are rogue leather with a ton of Agility.

Blizzard must have recognized that it didn’t make much sense to keep Nurturing Instinct the way it was, so the talent has now been changed to increase your healing spells by 50%/100% of your Agility, and healing done to you by 10/20% of your AP in cat form. There still seems to be some confusion over how this change will play out, but the official PTR patch notes still say it’s 10/20% of your AP in cat. While this will obviously depend a lot on how much attack power you’re packing, this could be a considerable buff to your healing taken in cat form (approaching and, with AP increases, probably exceeding the average additional healing by a warlock’s Fel Armor). Fully talented, this could mean an extra +400 healing done to you assuming you’re at the druid boards’  wow power leveling  minimum standards of 2,000 AP and 30% crit in cat form for entry to Karazhan.

Still, Nurturing Instinct is problematic. Not because it’s bad, exactly, but because it’s one of those troublesome talents rife among hybrid talent trees that force you to ask what you really want to be playing that character for.

Nurturing Instinct’s benefits are threefold; a). increasing feral survivability in PvP, b). increasing the efficiency of heals on yourself or others while in feral gear for PvE, and c). increasing survivability in raids or 5-mans where you, as melee dps, are among those most likely to take damage besides the tank(s). So, let’s look at these one by one:

A). Increasing feral survivability in PvP

Feral currently has a number of problems in PvP at 70. The example of such players as Deep and Azgaz aside, it’s sometimes tough to argue that resto (and sometimes balance) isn’t the way to go. There’s the always-fun Cat form range bug to contend with, the sheer squishiness of Cat form itself, the nerf to bear armor, health, and damage, and the constant danger of being stunned or incapacitated outside of forms. It’s especially regrettable that the two Druid dps buffs, Leader of the Pack and Moonkin Aura, give 5% crit to yourself and your party when both the likelihood of and damage done by a crit are reduced by resilience.

One of the things you will tend to see over and over again in good  wow leveling  feral PvP videos is constant healing. Heal early. Heal often. Heal as if your life depended on it, and most of the time it does. Pre-emptive healing is often the key to surviving when your fighting style consists of being a Rogue without Sap, Blind, or Vanish, a Warrior without Mortal Strike, Hamstring, or Overpower, or a Mage without Polymorph, Blink, Frost Nova, or Ice Block. Your tactic as a Druid is to outlast your opponent, because, assuming equal levels of gear, you’re unlikely to do more damage than they can. When your healing efficiency is improved significantly in feral gear, that’s a major advantage as long as you’ve got the mana to keep shifting in and out of forms to toss HoT’s. Although, with that said, one of the enduring ironies of feral PvP is almost certainly that the two maxims to be obeyed - don’t go OOM, and never stop healing - are two goals very much at odds with each other.

Itemization-wise, most of the gear with a ton of Agility on it is also Rogue gear without +int - so keep saving honor and/or arena points for the Gladiator’s and Vindicator’s Dragonhide gear. Your mana pool will thank you, and with the amount of Agility on high-end  FFXI Gil Druid PvP gear, this might have a significant effect on traditionally poor feral mana efficiency.

B). Increasing the efficiency of heals on yourself or others while in feral gear for PvE

PvE-wise I would argue that the change to Nurturing Instinct is effectively more business as usual. Nurturing Instinct has not been a popular talent for most PvE builds if only because the cookie-cutter 0/47/14 tanking/cat dps build is so streamlined. This is the build that will squeeze every last little bit of mitigation, threat generation, and cat damage from whatever gear you manage to get your hands on, and I’m hard-pressed to pick anything in there that I would sacrifice for the new version of NI. I would nominate Intensity as the most likely candidate for the average feral, or Thick Hide if you’re one of the lucky, lucky souls in full Tier 6 with more armor in bear form than you know what to do with (although sacrificing Thick Hide will require you to take Brutal Impact to reach the third tier of feral talents, BI is another useful PvP talent so it will complement NI in that respect very well). The problem is, Intensity is one of the talents that makes it possible for a feral Druid to heal effectively while in resto gear (and its secondary effect will generate 10 rage instantly from the Enrage ability in bear, which I have found to be useful, though not absolutely necessary, while tanking), so you’re trading significant mp/5 while casting for better healing efficiency while not in resto gear.

If you stay feral absolutely all the time, hate healing, hate being resto, Cheap FFXI Gil  and don’t ever plan on turning resto - Nurturing Instinct is worth your time, and you probably won’t miss the insta-rage from Intensity too badly (although, if you hate healing that much, do you still promise to toss heals on other players with your newly-efficient, Agility-enhanced HoT’s?). If, like me, you enjoy throwing on healing gear for a BG or the odd 5-man for your friend’s alt when they need a healer, NI is a potentially useful talent that you may or may not have the room for; if you’re in resto gear to help heal something, you’ll get very little benefit from gear with no Agility on it. That being said, I’m still likely to give it a go for a week after the patch hits, if for no other reason than -

C). Increasing survivability in raids or 5-mans where you, as melee dps, are among those most likely to take damage besides the tank(s).

The secondary component to the newly-reworked talent is that the healing done to you will rise 10/20% of your AP while in cat form. As stated earlier, this can be significant, especially given how high cat AP tends to be in relation to other physical dps classes  daoc platinum   (albeit we don’t scale anywhere near as well), and is all the more useful when you think about the job your healers are going to have in your run of the mill Outland heroic or raid.

There is a great deal of additional healing required in today’s 5-man’s and raids, and I’m not the first person to note how melee-unfriendly many encounters are:

  • Gatewatcher Gyro-Kill
  • Bog Overlords in Steamvaults
  • A very high and extremely irritating percentage of Tempest Keep and Serpentshrine Cavern trash
  • Gruul’s Cave-Ins and Shatter
  • Zereketh the Unbound
  • Naj’entus and the damage after a broken Tidal Shield (to be fair, this is the whole raid and not just melee)
  • Jan’Alai (dragonhawk boss) and his Flame Breath
  • Curator and his friends the astral flares
  • And many, many more!

I’m very keen to see how much easier it is to keep my furry little rump alive in a raid when I’m not tanking, and because a feral’s job is so frequently to tank and then switch to dps, Nurturing Instinct might very well become a must-have talent for the raiding feral. I’m reserving judgment until I get the chance to see the talent in action once 2.4 hits; it’s entirely possible that the talent’s only worthwhile on progression content, which gives it a fairly fixed lifespan of use. I’m in agony over which talent I’ll have to drop in order to accommodate it. Intensity, we hardly knew ye.

Ultimately Nurturing Instinct is likely to benefit feral PvP builds the most, or just provide the added convenience of better HoT’s while grinding. With feral being so poor for arena currently, it remains to be seen just how much NI is going to improve matters. One of the miserable truths of feral PvP is that the majority of Druid PvP talents are pretty incompatible with the talents you need to maximize (and, in the case of Survival of the Fittest, ensure, due to the lack of +defense on leather gear) PvE gameplay. While this is true of most classes, hybrids have it particularly tough in that the spread of PvP talents amongst all three trees can hit their effectiveness outside of BG’s and arena very badly. We’ll see what happens.

Small Locked Chest

July 10th, 2008 by zhuye

My recomneded changes to make this easier to read.

Welcome to my lockpicking guide. Please read the entire guide before posting questions. Very few questions are NOT answered in this guide.

Thanks!

Q. How do I get the skill lockpicking?
A. A rogue trainer (a major city one) will give you a quest at level wow gold   16 that gets you thief tools (for free) and teaches you the skill.

Q. Okay, I have the quest, but my skill is super low I can”t complete the quest, what now?
A. In the same area as your lockpicking quest, there should be some chests you can level up on. These chests are orange at skill level 1 (see

below for color explanation) and don”t go grey until about 100. Also, see down below for a 1-300 skillup guide.

Q. What do these colors mean? Red? Orange? Grey? I”m colorblind!
A. Every lock you pick has a ‘’skill level”. Just like with tradeskill items, they are color coded.
Red = can”t pick the lock at your skill level
Orange = guarenteed skill up
Yellow = good chance for skillup
Geeen = low chance for skillup
Grey = no chance for skillup
There is a list down below for commonly items and their skillup numbers in reference to lock difficulty.

Q. Do I have to visit a trainer to get journeyman/artisan/safecracker rank in Lockpicking?
A. You don”t. Your skill scales with level: every level you gain as a rogue translates into 5 extra points to your lockpicking cap.

Lockpicking Guide from 1-300
1-100 - Keep picking the instant respawn chests near the lockpicking quest.

100-175 - You can pick the Polly quest chest (not the instant spawn  wow power leveling chests), OR you can use the chests in the Poison quest you get at later

levels. You will have to click on your lockpicking skill first, then click the chest.

175-225 - Pickpocket mobs for Sturdy Junkboxes. Several mobs drop them, check thottbot and pick the best location for you. I recomend mobs in

instances, that way you can pick it clean, reset the instance, then go to town again. You can also pick doors in instances at thie range. I

personally picked the door in the Scarlet Monestary cathedral from 180-225 one day by repeatedly resetting the instance.

225-280 There is no real easy way that I”ve found to skill this range other than to keep doing junkboxes. You can use the gates in the NE

corner of Searing Gorge, but there is no reliable way to reset them (see notes below for more information).

280-300 There are 3 doors in BlackRock Depths that are very close to the zone in that you can use to skill up this. Small note that there is

really no reason to do this, because once you are at 280 you can pick wow leveling  every currently known lock anyway.
Trival list
If your skill is lower than “orange” number, you won”t be able to pick the lock (It won”t even let you try). If your skill is higher than the

“grey” number, you won”t get a skillup from that item. A “?” marks information that might be wrong, multiple “???” mark missing information.

Pickpocketted stuff:
Battered Junkbox (Orange: 25? Grey: 100?)
Worn Junkbox (Orange: 100? Grey: 175)
Sturdy Junkbox (orange: 175 Grey: 275?)
Heavy Junkbox (Orange: 250 Grey: never?)

Dropped Chest - These are extremely random, so don”t try to camp them.

NOTE: If you pick someone else’’s chest in the “Do not trade” window,  FFXI Gil you will NOT get a skillup, reguardless of color.

Heavy Bronze Lockbox
Ornate Bronze Lockbox
Iron Lockbox (Orange: 80? Grey:???)
Strong Iron Lockbox (Orange: 130 Grey:???)
Steel Lockbox (Orange: 175 Grey: ???)
Reinforced Steel Lockbox (Orange: 225 Grey: never)
Mithril Lockbox (Orange: 225 Grey: never)
Thorium Lockbox (Orange: 225 Grey: never)
Eternium Lockbox (Orange: 225 Grey: never)

Doors:

Doors in the normal world (aka not in instances) are usually on some sort of timer. In other words, you can”t repeatedly pick the same door

over and over again for skillups. The mechanism of the timers are not well known. Some people say if you pick something else (anything else)

inbetween attempts that it will reset some timers. Others say that if you pickpocket a mob, or kill a mob, or so something else, that this

will reset the timers. It may be different for every door. Suffice to say that reset an instance always (to my knowledge) resets any doors

inside, so use that method when you can.

Gnomeregan (Orange: 150? Green: 200)
Scarlet Monastery (Orange: 175 Green: 226 Grey:???)
Searing Gorge Gate (Orange: 225 Grey: 300?)
BRD (Orange: 280 Grey: ??? )
Scholomance (Orange: 280 Grey: ??? )

From Fishing:
Battered Chest

Reinforced Locked Chest
Sturdy Locked Chest
Ironbound Locked Chest (Orange: 175 Grey: 250?)

Other Stuff:

Most of these are chests used in quests that you can pick after you complete the quest. Note that you will probably need to active your

picking skill first, then click on the item as your cursor will not change automatically like it did during the quest or before it.

Insta-chests from respective lockpicking quests (Orange: 1 Grey: 105)
Main chest in lockpicking quest (Grey: 75/80? Grey: 175)
Poison quest chest (Orange: 90 Grey: 175)
Polly chest (Orange: 90? Grey: 175) (See note 5 below)
Engineered Practice Locks (Green: 1 Grey: 75) (You can only pick these ONCE, so they are WORTHLESS)
Cozzle’’s Lockbox (house by the Venture Co. STV, it’’s on a ~20m timer)  Cheap FFXI Gil (Orange: 150? Grey: 250?)

Links for lockpicking quests with respective insta-chests:

Horde: Thottbot World of Warcraft: Quest: Plundering the Plunderers

List of things that increase Lockpicking:
Dark Leather Gloves (Thottbot World of Warcraft: Dark Leather Gloves)

Various notes and other information:

Alliance rogues using the Klaven tower (Posion quest) chest: I just did this at 39, go to Westfall to where the poison quest is at, top

floor, Klaven can take me down to half health at 39 if I don”t dual-ambush so he kinda hurts. Hopefully you can also be outside his aggro

range to practice. To do this just go behind his table (after he spawns he walks around the top of the tower, wait until he is done and ends

up a bit away from you), there should be two chairs, jump over the chair closest to the chest and from behind the chair pick the lock. Don”t

worry about Touch of Zanzil: a death or Jungle Remedy from STV or cure poison from a high enough player should make it all good.
You must be of a high enough level not to aggro Klaven!

You can skill up 8 times on the doors to SM, there are 4 doors, 2 inside instances and 2 outside. They are on timers which can be reset.
(See confirmed information 1, above)
Only about half the chests are pickable and are trivial at 175.

Library: Chest in a cubby before the Gallery of Treasures, guarded by 3 mobs. Another chest that spawns in one of the hallways close to Doan

himself, guarded by typically 2 mobs + one roamer.

Armory: Chest either in the Training Grounds (guarded by 2 mobs + 1 roamer) or inside the first part of the armory (guarded by 2 mobs + 1

roamer.) Can”t remember location of other chest off the top of my head.

Cathedral: Chest on either the left or right side of the fountain. Another chest that spawns either by the monk guarding Fairbanks” hiding

spot, or spawns on the other side of the cathedral (guarded by 3 mobs + 2 that roam close but may or may not aggro.)

South of Ratchet along the coast a short way is a beached pirate ship. No pirates around ship, they are camped south of it. Bit tricky

getting the jump up onto the prow of the ship so you can get onboard, but can try repeatedly with no hassles. The chest is by itself

downstairs in the back. Just keep opening it til you hit 175. No fuss, no muss and NO FIGHTS! (This is the location of the Horde lock picking

quest and is in Horde controlled territory. Not recomended for Alliance characters on a PvP server).

I”ve left some stuff out I”m sure, but this is just what I”d do to better format the information.

No attunement for the new Naxx

July 7th, 2008 by zhuye

When Byrthor asks whether folks attuned for the old Naxx will be attuned for it when it returns in Wrath, Drysc answers with what will sound like music to most raiders’ ears: there is no attunement planned for the new Naxx.wow gold  Blizzard learned their lesson in Burning Crusade about wacky attunements, and so while they’re likely not gone from the game completely, there will probably be fewer barriers to raiding, especially early on in progression.

There is something else about this thread that irks me a bit, however. In the past day, the CMs have been hit with tons of questions about Wrath of the Lich King, and in almost all cases, the answer has been the same: maybe. Why don’t they know what’s going on? Because all indications are, guys, that Wrath hasn’t even been designed yet. Blizzard hasn’t determined if Atiesh will show up, wow power leveling  or if flying mounts will work, or if we’ll each get our own Arthas windup doll, because the expansion is still way into the planning stages. It’s fine to be ready for 2.2, or excited about 2.3, or interested in what we might see in the Sunwell. But if you’re excited to find out what’s in the next expansion, have a seat and take a deep breath, wow leveling  because it’s going to be a long, long time before the CMs can even know anything worth not telling us. Ya dig?

That said, I can’t fault players for being excited about upcoming content, FFXI Gil no matter how far off it is. But it does make me wonder about Blizzard’s focus. They could just as easily had us playing Zul’Aman or even the Sunwell at BlizzCon– both of those will show up long before Northrend will. With Wrath so far away, why did they push it so hard at BlizzCon? Cheap FFXI Gil Why didn’t they just announce it, and leave the rest of the hype to something we’ll actually see before the Beijing Olympics?

a huge difference in various situations

July 5th, 2008 by zhuye

The Hunter is right at home in the untamed wild lands of World of Warcraft. The Hunter class is a perfect match for the scores of wild beasts that roam the vast wilderness of Azeroth. Their lightening quick reflexes, deadly accurate aim,wow gold   and vast knowledge of the beasts of the land make the Hunter an extremely well balanced class. When effectively played, the hunter is not only a cunning solo fighter but they are also an excellent addition to any group as well as an extremely challenging PvP opponent.

Hunters are skilled in a variety of ways that make perfect use of the wild environment in which they are accustomed. They are probably best known for their mastery of animals. Not only do they posses the abilities of tracking and taming them, wow power leveling but they can also befriend the various beasts of the wild. Spiders, tigers, unicorns, raptors and other various creatures can uniquely bond with a Hunter and become a close traveling and fighting companion. Hunters only travel with one pet at their side and they invest much time and effort into developing their pet’s abilities and raising their strength. There are a plethora of various creatures for the Hunter to seek out and adapt with in World of Warcraft

Hunters only wear the lightest of armors and therefore are extremely agile and are lightening quick. They are capable of a variety of defensive maneuvers and have a huge assortment of weapons at their disposal that can be equipped in either or both of their hands simultaneously. wow leveling  They can make use of guns or bows, and they are highly effective trappers. They are absolute masters when it comes to ranged weapons and they sport abilities that can enhance their effectiveness.

Trapping is a great ability but using traps can be a tricky thing. Traps can only be placed outside of combat and then they can only be used one at a time. Because of this limitation you must strategize before the battle even takes place. The majority of hunters make use of the Immolation Trap at some point along the way, but it is not the only one. FFXI Gil Different traps have differing and various uses. The Freezing Trap is excellent for its slowing effect and the Immolation Trap is a simple single target damaging trap. Even though they become increasingly ineffective in the higher levels of World of Warcraft, they can still make a huge difference in various situations.

The Hunter class is brimming with usefulness and cunning.  Cheap FFXI Gil  there expert ways of the land, they make a great addition to any group and their unique skills are an awesome contribution to the various groups and communities of World of Warcraft.
